Last Day of School!

We've made it to the end of first grade!

Had a great time carpooling with our friends this year! Right after we got back in the car, the song "One Thing" came on the radio. I had been meaning to make a request for the kids to hear on the way to school and never got around to it, plus I didn't have a clue what song to pick since the three have very different likes. I couldn't have planned it better as we backed out of the driveway with all three of them singing this song!

And we will miss Mrs. Beer!

Our Sporty Little Family

This week, Jillian moved up to a preschool class in gymnastics. The only major difference is that I am no longer down there with her. She's doing great and loves coach Emily!

I got my multi-sport season started with the BRC's Dash and Splash. It was just a 2-mile run and a 1/4 mile swim and there were a lot of teens in it doing it as a relay, but I came in first in my age group. OK, so there were only two of us in my group, but still!

We took in a Redbirds game with our friends, the Kearbey's. Funny story...Ryan and Taylor were in a playgroup togeher when they were 1-3. When I went back to work we lost touch. But now, they are on the same baseball team and we have reconnected! Having a lot of fun with them!

And Ryan wrapped up his basketball season this weekend:

They finally won a game and we were all so excited!

So coach took them out for ice cream!

Opening Day!

Though we are not yet done with basketball, baseball got under way today in Arlington!

Ryan is on the Yankees this year (no, we did not chose the team name, but we are so happy to have him on a team with friends he knows and some great coaches!!).

They were one of the teams selected to play an exhibition game:

And here are the words  never thought I'd say: Go Yankees!

Bonus Room

Now that I am not a Creative Memories consultant anymore, I am trying to redo the bonus room so it's more family friendly. I am still keeping my crafting area and an arts and crafts area for the kids, but we are making room for a possible train set and leaving the main area open to build blocks, set up car tracks or Thomas tracks (all things we can't do in the living room anymore because Bentley will eat the toys), or set up play houses and tents!

This one is from Grammy and Grandad. All the others are tents they've acquired over the years:

Good times in the bonus room!

Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt

I love Valentine's Day, but I love it for all the little, thoughtful ways you can show someone you love them. I do not love it so that someone will buy me a big expensive diamond and I do not love it enough to wait two hours to eat dinner out. So my family has it's own little traditions. Which had to be squeezed in this year since Valentine's Day was on an ordinary Tuesday when Scott and I already had our regular Tuesday night tickets to a show at the Orpheum and we found out that Ryan's first basketball practice would be that night!

When the kids got home, we quickly did their traditional scavenger hunt (my mom started this with my sister and I when we were little).

It is so fun to do it now when Ryan can read and figure out the clues:

Jillian even figured out one that Ryan misinterpretted and found the next clue! The final prize was out in the garage:

New books for everyone:

Except me, I got Gigi's cupcakes! They are so huge, Scott and I had to split one!

And what better way to say Happy Valentine's Day than with basketball?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Since they were both dressed so nice (even got a bow in Jillian's hair!), I thought I'd try and get a few good shots for Valentine's Day.

Here are a few more:
