The Zoo with Aunt Katy

Ever since Aunt Katy bought Ryan a stuffed Tai Shan panda, I have wanted to take Ryan to the National Zoo in Washington with her. This trip gave us the opportunity to go!

We met there today (the weather man was very wrong. Not sunny and pleasant, but cold and rainy by the end.) and went straight to the pandas.

Here's Tai Shan:

After the pandas, we trekked down the hill to see lots of other animals. Including some orangutans that commute from their homes to the "think tank" via some high lines. Too cool!

Very fun (although a bit chilly) afternoon. Can't wait to try it again on a sunny day. And one other thing. I knew we had a good zoo in Memphis, and this confirmed it. The National Zoo has it in terms of price (can't beat free), but there were many things we had that DC didn't. Looking forward to visiting ours again when we get home!
